Mate

Yerba Mate is harvested in South America from a plant that is a member of the holly family.

Caffeine

The Mate plant naturally contains caffeine.

Steeping

Mate should be prepared using non-boiling water (around 180 degrees Ferenheit) and 1 teaspoon per 8oz cup.

Mate leaves can (and should) be infused multiple times. The leaves should be consumed within the same day as the original infusion.

Consuming

Traditional consumtion of Mate is done by leaving the leaves in a hollowed out gourd with hot water. The liquid is then drunk through a straw (bombilla) that has small holes to strain out the leaves.

Each of the Serene Teaz Mate options indicates the necessary steeping instructions to enjoy.
