Artisan Green

Artisan Green (also known as Flowering Teas) are comprised of tea leaves that have been hand wrapped and tied around a flower into the shape of a small ball.

When placed into a hot container of water the Tea leaves will open to reveal the blossomed plant. The actual time for the plant to fully open with vary between 2-6 minutes.

Processing

The Green Tea leaves used during the creation are processed using the same standard principles as the standard green tea. Whole leaves are used to provide the proper width and length to cover the plant.

Caffeine

The Green Tea leaves naturally contains caffeine. The amount of caffeine from these leaves is generally between 10-15mg per 8oz cup.

Steeping

Artisan Flower Teas should be prepared using non-boiling water (around 190 degrees Fahrenheit/ 87 Celcius) if the liquid is planned to be drunk. Hotter water may cause bitterness in the infusion.

Transfer the fully-blossomed plant to cold water after it has opened to keep the centerpiece for longer periods without losing color. Hot water will last for a couple of days while cold water kept blossoms will generally last up to one week.
